Funded sessions:- Priority will be given to those children who use their allocation of 15hrs per week here at Smallworld. If you choose to use your “free care” elsewhere your child’s session will be charged at the funded price. This will also apply to parents who want their child to attend Smallworld for more than 15 hrs per week. If this applies then the charge will be £3.50 per hour.

At Smallworld Preschool and Link Clubs Ltd we aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can learn through play, be happy and enjoy themselves with a variety of experiences suited to the different needs of each child.

At our preschool club we operate a child protection policy, with our prime responsibility being the welfare and well being of all children in our care. We believe we have a duty to all the children, parent/carer to act quickly and responsibliy in accordance with our own Child Protection Policy, together with the local safequarding board. All of our policies can be viewed on request.

Shooting Stars: Reception
This session is offered from the September through to July for the children who will be starting school. This will be on a Tuesday morning 9.00am - 11.30am.
During this session we shall be working towards the basic skills for helping your child prepare for school with input and support for the reception teacher.

Visits to the onsite primary school will also take place from April onwards, these visits result in a smoother transition.

SmallWorld believe it is essential to provide children with positive healthy eating experiences in order to promote their wellbeing, therefore we operate a healthy approach to snacks.

*a packed lunch is to be provided by parents and a charge of £2.50 per day will be required from those children who will use this facility.

Early Years Foundation Stage
The EYFS is a single quality framework to support children’s learning and development for Birth to 5 years.
This framework recognises children as individuals and competent learners. For all children learning begins at birth.
The EYFS will help practitioners provide appropriate play experiences to enable your child to develop in all areas of learning. Practitioners will recognise your child’s strengths and areas they need more support to develop new skills.
